This is a very overdue review. My husband and I visited the Atlantis Royal back in November 2019. We are Titanium Elite members. We arrived on property about 5pm and were asked to check-in inside a special room reserved for Marriott Bonvoy members and were greeted by Dwight.
We had booked a standard ocean view room and when we arrived it was not ready. After discussion with Dwight, he said he would find us a room that was ready, and much to our surprise he sure did! We were upgraded to a very large ocean view, one-bedroom suite with many windows that give us multiple views of the ocean and resort.
The rooms are definitely in need of a bit of a facelift, but it was clean and very nice. We had one problem while we were there, and that was that the hot water had quit working in many parts of the hotel. The hotel was on top of the issue and they did issue a a resort credit for the inconvenience. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and the service all throughout the resort was very good!
Thanks Dwight for making our stay so special!!! My family and I were aboard the Disney Dream Cruise Ship on a 4-night Caribbean Cruise. Our first stop was Nassau, Bahamas. When I heard that we would stop at Nassau, the first thing that came to my mind was the Atlantis.
You probably know or have heard about the Atlantis when you searched about hotels in Dubai. It’s one of the most luxurious and most well known hotels in Dubai. However, I recently discovered that there was an Atlantis Hotel in Nassau, so I really wanted to check it out! When we arrived in Nassau, we got out of the ship in the morning and headed to the hotel. We wanted to spend the day there and it was totally worth it!
I have never seen a more beautiful hotel in my life. When I entered into the hall of the Royal Towers I was speechless. It’s just fantastic. The aquarium and the galleries with stores of luxurious brands like Gucci were incredibly beautiful and breathtaking. The facilities of the hotel are awesome and the beaches feel like a paradise, matching the name of the island the Atlantis is located at - Paradise Island.
If you have a chance, make sure you visit the Atlantis Bahamas, which I even consider to be more beautiful than the Dubai one because of the environment and the crystal-clear water of the Bahamas! With the pandemic, we called a week prior and Atlantis would NOT let us reschedule our trip to another time. We went trying to make the best of it. We originally booked for The Beach renovated hotel and was told they 'upgraded us' they moved us to a 1980's dingy musty room. 75% of hotel and water park was closed. Very limited resturants.
We tried going downtown and that was shut down. Think your looking out at a beautiful view until you look down and see all the trash on the roofs below. (garbage back of trash, cups, napkins.) Food allergies forced me to eat flatbread for dinner each night unless I wanted to pay $75 for a steak. Came back from a taxi tour of the island and our hotel door was open, only to find out the lock never worked. No water in room. Was relocated to another room in the Royal that had been updated.
(a room we should have been assigned when they 'upgraded' us, finding out all of the hotels on property were closed and only the Royal was open.) Was told a manager would call, no calls, no one telling me I had to file a report with security. Finally filed one the last day and was told I would be contacted. That was 17 days ago. Due to the room issue I had to miss seeing my family swim with the dolphins. Many other issues but no one seems to care. We went 5 days before they closed for a month. They just took advantage of many guests.
I was a frequent guest when I was younger and loved it there. Customer service is nothing like it once was and unless you want the experience of a road side motel and a discounted waterpark I do not recommend.
They could care less once they have your hard earned dollars. New resort with Casino and Waterpark being built now. That will be our next stay!
